You're reading into it. What's he supposed to say about his football team? 
If he says nothing, people get upset. If he says something people get 
upset. 

Regarding his earlier comments.....  the "dumbest team in America" - 
looking back on it, he wasn't far off relative to the football field (it 
will still a rather silly comment to make publicly and it cost him). Joe 
Dailey, OL, defensive lapses - where was he wrong? Furthermore, would you 
expect a coach to never criticize his players? That's pretty wimpy. 

What I wouldn't expect from someone in Callahan's position is piling on.
