[Husker] Recruiting

I'm not sure where you heard we were supposed to be #1 or 2 in the Big 12.
People figured we would be the best in the North and I think we ended up
there. Maybe you saw the North division numbers and thought it was the
entire conference. We were always trailing Texas and OU, and, apparently
some others edged us out, too. We got as high as 15, nationally, at one
time, but were hovering around 18 to 20 for some time, and that's on Rivals.
We are usually about five to ten slots lower on Scout. Last year Rivals had
us at #5 and Scout was around 10. This year it looks like 20 and 30. Don't
forget we lost Freeman, Rulan Jones, and now Palmer at the last minute. If
we had been able to pull in Deas (a 4* dl) it would have helped.

Is this disappointing? Depends on who you ask? My expectations were raised,
so I feel a bit disappointed. I think a case can be made that there is some
pretty good talent in this class. A case could also be made that asks why we
fired Solich, if this is all the better we do. But there isn't much to do,
now, besides root for who we have, and wait and see how this plays out on
the field in the next few years. Osborne used to say you have to take a few
years together. You miss out on a running back one year and it increases
your chances for getting a top rb the next year. Speaking of running back,
we look loaded there. Can we open some holes for them now?
