        I agree with what you say for the most part.  I have 
officiated a lot of games in my past on the high school and small 
college level.  It is not the official's job to keep the fouls 
even.   It is not the official's job to keep the fouls close.  It IS 
the official's job to make the calls as they happen and let the chips 
fall where they might.  Now I am not taking the side of the officials 
in the Rainbow Classic.  I am just saying lopsided foul numbers 
doesn't translate into the officials favoring one team over the other.


      I had a coach one time get in my face for that very thing being 
his team had many more fouls than the opposing team.  I asked him, 
"Coach, isn't it possible your team is fouling more than your 
opponent?"  I also told him it wasn't my job to call a foul and run 
down to the other end of the floor and call one to even it 
up.  Sometimes the fouls are fairly even and sometimes they're 
not.  It just depends on the flow of the game.  With that said I have 
felt at times mainland teams get the shaft in Hawaii.  But, these 
officials supposedly were from the PAC 10 Conference.
