I think Doc Sadler knew going in that it could be tough sledding.  I'd read a quote somewhere that was attributed to Sadler at some point during his two years at UTEP prior to coming to NU that read, "if I ever leave UTEP, I'll never bring another team back to Hawaii."  Well, he took the NU job and the Rainbow Classic was already on the schedule.

The competancy or fairness of an officiating crew is the biggest "matter of opinion" in sports, I suppose.  But Sadler, obviously with his two tees and choice words, didn't think they were worth squat and there is one fact -- at about the 7 minute mark of the first half (NU vs. Hawaii), the team foul numbers showed Nebraska with 7 and Hawaii with 0.

Epically when a team is playing against eight people. i tried to listen to the Creighton game last night. but the sandman came. I wanted to see how much the three guys in stripes influenced the game with Creighton. In the game nebraska played with Hawaii were the ref's as bad as the play by play guys said they were.

The second half was much better. The Cornhuskers are 8 and 3 on the year as they prepare for the final three pre-conference games. Next up is Miami in Miami on the 30th, then two at home (that they should win) prior to Big XII play.

NU had five guards in the game last night at one point. A long-term injury or consistent foul trouble to Maric will be a constant concern. NU's a thin, fragile team ... but they're producing as much right now as I think could be realistically expected. If they catch some breaks, they could continue to surprise some people. A couple of bad breaks could really influence the overall won-loss record. It's a precarious postion when you depend on a player as much !
