I wrote a weekly sports column and hung out with Husker assistant coach Ben
Gregory, who fed me inside info for my column. But other than trumping your
qualifications, that doesn't prove anything. What does is this: The Husker
media guide for 1994 lists Nebraska's rushing average for 1971 at 258.3 and
their passing average at 179.3, both almost exactly what I recalled. They
also note that the 179.3 led the conference in passing!! Hardly the "did
they even pass the ball?" comments of ESPN.
