I'm not going to say I'm so naive that I don't care whether the Huskers win.
I do care. I don't want them to win at any cost. I don't want a Bob Huggins
type as basketball coach or a Gary Barnett type as a football coach. I want
Husker teams to follow the rules and win the right way. I don't want another
Lawrence Phillips.
I guess it sounds a bit Pollyannaish but that's how I interpret it.

I am not addressing you personally here but every time I see the above
I chuckle a little. I know it is emblazoned on Memorial Stadium. I wonder
how many Husker fans really believe it? I wonder how many honestly would say
it matters not whether the game is won or lost but that what really matters
is the action, the game, and the deed? I'll bet precious few. I'll bet
most would say, if honest, the final score is the thing.

I never learned anything when I was the one doing the talking.
