I think part of the reason is women's volleyball doesn't have a direct comparison to a men's sport in our part of the country.
For most (at least male) sports fans, they tend to see women's sports as inferior to the men's game, especially basketball.
Personally women's basketball and softball don't much interest me while women's volleyball and soccer do.
That said, the match last night was fantastic.
