Mr. Hesse understates. It was an exciting match and I wasn't convinced NU would win until the final point in each of the last three matches and I'm generally pretty optimistic. The greatest point spread was about 27-21 in NU's favor in the final match, but even then, Stanford went on a 6 or 7 and 2 run to keep things interesting. Larson and Pavan were awesome -- unbelievable even - Larson early and Pavan throughout. But it was Larson who finally put the game away after Stanford crept back into contention. This was every bit as nerve wracking as the A&M game -- OK close to as nerve wracking as we didn't go into the fifth game/match or whatever. Anyone who missed it missed a great sporting event. And if anyone is uncertain if Pavan deserved POY for volleyball, they should watch the replays.

Congratulations to the Nebraska volleyball team! Stanford played
well and wouldn't go away, but the Cornhuskers would not be denied
and played through to victory. Thanks to the players for an
inspiring performance!
