[Husker] ESPN: 1995 Huskers Still the Greatest

If Herbstreet or someone else doesn't provide for an opposing viewpoint, then the TV segment will be accused of being bland. Folks, this is entertainment and not all sports.

I don't care what anyone else thinks, and although I am obviously biased, I think the 1995 team is the best college team I have ever witnessed. Personally, I think the 1994 team is a close second, only because of the adversity overcome. I still remember that away game against K-State with Turman at quarterback. Say what you want about Phillips and I certainly am not defending him in any way shape or form, but the O-line and he on that day basically made their minds up that they would win it themselves and they did. Also, the defense made the decision they would win the game as well and they also delivered.

Barry Switzer is many things.......he has to my knowledge always been fairly accurate in his assessments. Flamboyish, controversial, yes......inaccurate, no.

Nobody except Herbstreet. He really came accross as a whiny spoiled brat
last night that wasn't getting his way. I guess everyone on the panel and
that voted didn't realize that the words "great" and "football" this year
were only to be associated with Ohio State.

His complaints about Nebraska went on and on.... like the comment about how
Phillips who was suspended for the season mysteriously appeared in the
Fiesta Bowl, and how they shouldn't do this until they were sure that people
in Florida and California had ESPN Classic.

Switzer couldn't say enough good things about Nebraska and responded to the
critics concerning Nebraskans being the only ones voting by saying, "Hey
they have the greatest fans in the country." When asked if he would still
run the wishbone if coaching today he said he would run Tom's (Osborne)
offense.

Kinda fun to watch if only for the clips on past teams and games.

Mike
