Sure you do Bob. Its the tv money. They have their own contract and dont have to share it with anyone. If NU or any other college team could have pulled that off they would have done so also. Every game on tv? Wow not only great money but great exposure too. Why break that off?

What about Boise State and Viginia Tech - You have left out  a no loss team 
and a 2 loss team???  I like the current system - all that  really needs to 
happen is a tweak to the computers to put more emphasis on  strength of schedule 

and margins of victory.  I think a Boise State (or a  Notre Dame) should be 
punished for playing a weak schedule and not really  running up the score on 
them.  And a Florida should be helped by playing a  tough schedule.  As it was 
in 
our current playoff system.

     I didn't go into it in my post but all the things you talk about should be under consideration is what I
don't like about the system.  You shouldn't have to be concerned with how you look, strength of schedule, how you
and another team looked against common foes, and etc.  That is one thing I like about the NFL and that is the only
thing that matters is did you win or did you lose?  Whether you win by 1 or 101 it matters not.  It is still a win.
You mentioned the computers should be tweaked even more.  I would like to see the computers taken out of it.  Make everyone
be part of a conference and make that conference have a championship game.  Take the the conference champions and
put them in a playoff system to see who shakes out.  If places like Notre Dame don't want to join a conference then
that is fine.  They just can't be part of the National playoff system.  I am not sure why they don't join a conference.
They are members of conferences in other sports.
