Along the lines of teams from second-tier conferences getting screwed out of BCS spots, the Boise State AD could easily schedule some games against the Alabamas and Texas A&Ms of the world, teams that are pretty high profile names but losing 3-4 games a season in the past few years (As well as a certain Big 12 team that we all love so much). Heck, the AD could even schedule some visits to the Michigans and Texas's of the world if they really wanted to gain some credibility.
I realize there are many logistical concerns with scheduling and that some of these teams would not want to risk playing the Boise States, but until they replace home and homes against Sacramento State and Idaho with games versus some teams in the top 100, then maybe they'd get some (more) attention. Although anything can (and has) happen(ed) in the bowl games, I believe teams like Boise State will be grossly overmatched against top 10 teams like OU. I believe if they played OU 10 times they might win 1 or 2, but luckily that is not how it works. What does this say for a playoff system? I don't know, I'm just looking forward to the Cotton Bowl and I think I need a vacation.
