Exactly right. There is an assumption running through many of the posts 
on this subject that the purpose of all this is to find/select the 
"best" team. I don't think so: the point is to crown a champion, and 
that team may or may not be the "best," but they will have won it on the 
field. There are ways to do this and preserve the bowls in their current 
form.
