So now I'm getting hammered,
Then explain to me, What is the point of bring up the 10-3 record in the
past (2003); if not to compare Solich to Callahan?

I didn't bring it up, BUT

that year we lost 3 games in the Big 12 (by substantial margins)--twice to
unranked opponents, AND we were absolutely outclassed by #16 Texas in Austin,
the speed/talent difference was ENORMOUS (I was at that game).
We also played a WEAK Michigan State team in the "Alamo Bowl" that year (I
was also there).

2003 refresher
Won 10, Lost 3

Big 12: Won 5, Lost 3, second place North Division

I would definitely take this season with a more difficult schedule.
Versus #4 USC, #5 Texas, #24 A&M, #8 OU and #10 Auburn.
We were the runner-up in the Big 12 (where we actually played for the
championship),
AND we get to play a quality/ranked SEC team in the COTTON Bowl.

Maybe I was a bit harsh earlier in my previous email, but there has been a
huge improvement in talent and our competitiveness versus higher level
opponents. It's not simply about the wins/losses, somebody should take a more
in-depth look at the season/record before they'd make such baseless comparative
statement---if not trying to bring up the Solich vs. Callahan/Pederson theme.
It absolutely appeared to me that the point of the email statement was to
compare the final Solich "why was he fired" year to Callahan this year and "the
direction of the program" debate.
