You left out an announcer on KFOR betwen Perry and Scott, Tim Moreland.
I always thought Don was the most technically precise of the announcers
I heard after we moved to Nebraska in 1977, and he was a gentleman in every
sense of the word. I haven't seen him around Lincoln for a few years,
but I assume he is still with us. Don, like me, was a soda jerk in his
youth. He helped us dedicate our basement soda fountain and held court
telling sports stories while he dished out ice cream, that remains one
of my favorite evenings!
Lyell was the most exciting, he really rolled them in the aisles himself,
but Moreland was not far behind IMHO, and probably called the most visually
descriptive game, you could really picture it in your mind.
The year that Ray Scott did was disappointing, it was clear his best years
had been 2 decades earlier in Green Bay.
KFOR called Dick Perry "Mr. Excitement" in their ads, I wonder who came
up with that one??
