[Husker] Frustration . . . .

It didn't seem to me that the offensive line was THAT bad in this game -- of course I was impatiently fast forwarding through a lot of the game after having to use my TiVo in light of a company VP's Christmas party -- but that's another story...

Anyway, the line didn't cause all of those turnovers. I thought they actually did a decent job of giving Taylor a chance to throw. He ended up throwing 50 times, and only went down three (compared to NINE last year). The interceptions were huge. And I've also read here and on the Huslerpedia boards (mostly those boards) pretty harsh criticism of the corners. While I will be the first to admit they aren't up to the level of many we've had in the past, I don't see any way this loss can be blamed at all on the defense. I have never been a Kevin Cosgrove fan, but the defense played their hearts out, and kept us in the game. Could you believe the field position, particularly in the second half??? And the Huskers could do NOTHING with it!!! Did the better team win? Maybe, but I don't think the gap was that big. Oh for the days of Oklahoma playing the wishbone, where you could count on at least four or five fumbles per game! They had ZERO last night. One INT. That, to me, was a HUGE factor in the game.

Here's a question...Did Nebraska EVER run out of the shotgun all year??? It seems like they might as well hold up a sign that says if Taylor is under center, they are going to run the ball, and if he's in the shotgun, they are going to pass. I know they do pass sometimes when he's under center, but the shotgun thing really struck me. And one more thing. Someone mentioned having a healthy Cody Glenn in a short yardage situation...Don't you think a hand off to our all conference fullback might yield the same results??? Nobody would be expecting it, since it has never happened this year. Am I just too old school when I think there would be benefit sometime to the fullback running the ball?

It's the same age old problem we have had for the last two or three
years. No Offensive line.

I have never learned anything when I was the one doing the talking.
