Good Morning All:

After last nights loss to Oklahoma 21-7, NU secured a berth in the Cotton Bowl for the first time in 27 or so years. NU will face either Arkansas or Auburn, with the determination being made after the Capitol One Bowl makes it's selection between Arkansas or Tennessee. Basically if UT goes to the Capitol One Bowl then Arkansas will be NU's opponent, if Arkansas goes to the Capitol One Bowl then Auburn will be our opponent. 

As some others have stated don't think that Steve Pederson isn't hoping beyond hope that the opponent is Auburn. If we play Arkansas the storylines would be very interesting and possibly uncomfortable given the fact that he courted Houston Nutt (the current Arkansas coach) to replace Frank Slouch prior to hiring Bill Callahan. 

The Cotton Bowl gets underway at 10:40 AM CT, on January 1st in Dallas. The game will be televised nationally on the FOX Television Network (KPTM, Channel 42-Omaha et al).
