Wow is it gametime yet? I look on the list and see discussions of the ball air temperature...
The better team usually wins, whether it's in the desert or the arctic!
And the better team WILL win!!!

I'm not a physicist, nor do I play one on TV. It seems to me the temparture of the air inside the ball as well as ambient temparture around it would have something to do with various dynamics.
You certainly see don't see many long FGs or punts when the weather is super cold.

The temperature of air inside the ball doesn't affect how far or fast it
will go. You could put helium in it and it wouldn't help. A cold ball
won't respond the same to impact and therefore won't fly as far after being
kicked (I look for more fourth down attempts). And, in cold air there is
more drag on a pass, but it is pretty minimal.
Yes it is harder to catch, and I'd bet that it will affect the QB-receiver
timing. I am wondering if the Huskers have been able to better practice
this week since the storm has been in OU's neck of the woods. It hasn't
been too bad here in Lincoln if you like cold wind.
That game between the Chargers and Bengals did affect Fouts et al., and
there's a strong negative correlation between southern teams' success and
playing in the cold on several levels. I don't know how that will affect
the Sooners, however. It would be better if the Huskers were playing a
Florida team.
