[Husker] Saturday's matchup

And remember, you can compare all the stats in the world, but aside for a few common opponents (6 to be exact) OU & Nebraska didn't play the same exact schedule, so who knows. Sometimes teams are just better, period. I'm guessing many of the folks making the picks are thinking OU is plain better.

That said, I'd go with
NU 31 OU 24 and I'd have to think either team would wax Boise St in the Fiesta Bowl.

Believe me, I'm pulling for NU as much as anyone, but I can see why OU is common pick.

My biggest concern is our D. It's been very inconsistent this year; sometimes pretty good, sometimes less than adequate. Remember last Friday CU had a 1 and 30 and made the first down on three running plays? A physical team like OU will be able to move the ball on the ground if they handle their matchups. Also OSU didn't just beat us because we turned the ball over, but because their offense outplayed/outmanned our defense.

Cold weather also affects the passing game more than running. Our running game is improved, but to the extent conditions make passing less of a threat NU's attack suffers more than OU's.

I'm pulling for the win, I'm just realistic. Holtz, May, et al also picked USC as well.

Well, both May and Holtz picked OU, so you should probably bet the farm
on Nebraska.
