Conversely, what is the downside?  The only one you mentioned in a 
previous post was that it might deter potential QB recruits from 
comitting to Nebraska for next year.  However, I think that's a 
stretch.  Any incoming QB recruit can redshirt in 2007 and have 4 full 
years as the starter if they're good enough.

The reality is that the Huskers need a stopgap at the QB position for 
next year.  If you do not see an upside to that, then I suggest you 
examine the depth chart a little more thoroughly.
