This weekend is definitely big.  I think it will show a lot about NU &
UT.  Whoever wins this series will be on top of the Big 12 standings
with only OU within striking distance (see standings below), possibly
moving up to second in the event of some sweeps.  NU definitely has the
tougher row to hoe with series left against TT, Ok State, Baylor and OU,
while Texas has TAMU, Kansas and Missouri all in that order.

So being where things are right now, I'd say it's a long shot for NU to
win the Big 12 this year.  Of course anything can happen and it did last
year.  But I'd take UT's 3rd place for a National Title a few weeks
later.  

I'm not sure if NU has the maturity in the pitching staff to handle a
tough series like UT and win if the starters don't make it through 7+
innings.  And Jensen is great when he's on, but that doesn't always
happen.  It was great to see a bunch of pitchers this week pitch well
and I hope it continues, but this weekend may actually serve better as a
learning experience for tournament time at the end of the season.  

So while a sweep would be awesome and 2 out of 3 would be great, how
Anderson and the team handle this weekend regardless of the W's is more
of an indicator for this team than the won/loss column.

Should be an interesting second half of the conference season.
