[Husker] Mulkey

I'm glad that the Callahan system is setting and holding to limits with players.
I wouldn't put too much emphasis on how much someone like Mulkey was given (I'm
expanding on what Scott mentioned about the chance he had been given). He
worked his way onto the team as a walk-on and took some amazing shots catching
passes across the middle while earning a starting spot. It's his to throw away
if he so chooses. Again, I'm glad that the program has limits that also protect
the integrity of the school.

Mulkey sounds like someone who will challenge any barrier with no regard for his
own safety, e.g., his catches in traffic and facing off against Incognito and
Octavian as mentioned by Alan Siporin. Though this is great on third and 10,
this may also have been his downfall off the field. I'll bet we see him either
in the Arena League or in jail.

You'd think after one (or maybe even two) screw ups, someone at a major college
football program would realize the importance of staying out of trouble and the
chance they have been given. Of course, it never seems to sink in with a few
kids.

The obvious speculation about Mulkey is that he used up his three strikes or
more, with a pot charge, a couple major fights, and several run-ins with the
law. But after I remembered that Mulkey is the same kid who tangled with the
300 pound Incognito, and picked a fight with Octavian this Spring, it occurred
to me that, maybe, they kicked him off for his own protection.
