Hello Husker Fans,

Would the real Johnny Dorn please come forward? I love clichés, I
  really do.

Anyhow, the Johnny Dorn (4-2) of old showed up today and pitched a
good one as the Huskers (20-5, 4-2) win 12-2. He threw 7 innings,
gave up 1 run, scattered 7 hits, struck out 2, and walked 3. The 3
walks are iffy, but the umpire behind the plate (John Ausmus) was
calling it tight. I think that's the same umpire that hosed us
against Texas a year or two ago, but I'm not sure.

As foretold by the greatest of Husker baseball fans (gloat) Gorsett
continued his explosive season with two home runs and 4 RBIs in the
game taking his total to 12 homers in just 25 games. Adrew Brown
also added 3 RBIs as the Huskers rolled.

The Huskers take on Creighton next on Tuesday at Johnny Rosenblatt
stadium at 7:00pm. Some fans are upset at the ticket price increase
to $12.00, but can you blame Creighton for hiking up the prices for
their biggest draw of the year? I can't, and won't. I for one love
this particular game, it's a great environment and a great crowd.

The Huskers will probably throw Shirek (1-1 2.63) who is no slouch,
but is coming off a tough outing against Northern Colorado last week
where he got himself into a little trouble.

I imagine the Huskers will fall a spot or two this week after going
3-2 for the week (Mon - Sun) and 1 loss against a mediocre opponent,
but you're going to have some not-so-great weeks in a 50-60 game
season, it all just evens out in the end.
