ball again. As long as the first pass is backwards, a
lateral by definition, it can be passed forward as
long as neither player has passed the line of
scrimmage while in control of the ball. Or something
like that. And no the passer can not repass a ball
that has been batted back to him."
If you are refering to the play NU ran in the 1982 OU
game in which Gill bounced a lateral pass off of the
turf to Rozier who then passed to the TE, the NCAA has
made that play illegal.
