Art (Dazzy) Vance was elected to the Hall of Fame by the Baseball Writers
in 1955.  He received 205 votes on 251 ballots.

Roger Maris never got more than 30% on any ballot, possibly because he 
was never all that popular with the press, or with the fans in NY.   

His career was also shortened by injuries and it is unlikely that the 
Veterans Committee will consider his 1961 season, great as it was in a 
dead-ball era, enough to qualify him for enshrinement.  

Ron Santo isn't likely to make it either, and he was the clean-up hitter
in a terrific lineup for the Cubs in the mid-60's, when you could pencil in 
over half of the Cubs starting lineup in February:  Kessinger, Beckert, 
Williams, Santo, Banks, and Hundley in the #8 spot.  (The rest of the 
lineup is better forgotten.)

Williams and Banks are in the Hall (Ernie should be there twice), but not 
the Pizza Man.
