I suspect that's more of an indication of how bad a bunch of other teams
are doing, like Oklahoma, Michigan, Louisville, Iowa and Oregon.
It's not hard for be to believe that one or two voters decided Nebraska
didn't look so bad after all.
Last week Oklahoma dropped out of the top 25 for the first time since
1999, this week Michigan dropped out of the top 25 for the first time
since 1998. Iowa State's lucky they stayed in the poll, not to mention
lucky they escaped from West Point. Anybody think the Cyclones could
beat Oklahoma or Michigan? Not I!
Right now the team I'd least want to face is Virginia Tech. USC may have
similar thoughts in, oh, about 14 weeks. USC-Notre Dame could be a
meaningful game for the first time in what, about 30 years?
Texas will find a way to foul up their ranking, as they always seem to do.
