Fellow Husker list posters:

This post is not directly Husker related and I apologize in advance for
that. However, I though some of you might be interested in this
information.

Many of you may remember a former Husker List poster, Trent Woodruff.
He and his family are currently stationed at Kessler Air Force Base in
Biloxi, Mississippi. Their on-base home was destroyed by Hurricane
Katrina. Trent’s wife (Wendy) and two children were evacuated to
Madison, where they have been living with his father and mother for the
past 2 ½ weeks. Trent’s daughter, Melissa enrolled in our high school
as a junior and is currently playing softball for our HS team.

Yesterday, Wendy received word that they will be able to move back to
Mississippi on Wednesday of this week! We were at a softball tournament
in Wayne when she received the word from Trent. The tears of joys that
followed were a beautiful sight for all of us present.

Later during the day, the team and parents were eating at a local
restaurant in Wayne. Also in the restaurant was Matt Herian, who was in
town to see his younger sister play volleyball. Wendy politely asked
Matt if he would consider taking a picture with her to send back to
Trent. Matt was very gracious and agreed to do this. What a great day
for the Woodruff family!

If you look in today’s editorial section of the OWH, you will find a
story about Hurricane Katrina written by Trent’s daughter Melissa! I
know we are all concerned with the current state of Husker FB, but this
situation puts things back into the proper perspective for me! We are
all so lucky to have what we have!
