[Husker] NU Receivers

The only "go to" receivers that I witnessed on the field last Saturday were the tight ends that either the line judge or umpire "went to" to throw the yellow hankie for holding or lining up incorrectly. I think we REALLY miss Herrian and I am not convinced that our receiver core is above average. I think they are average. Yet, sometimes average is good enough and in many cases should be a lot better than one touchdown per game.

I thought one comment made during the broadcast was particularly revealing,
in that Pittsburgh had no respect for our receivers...feeling that we had
no one who was a game breaker. In this type of offense, I would think that
would be the first thing you would need.
In watching Florida St., they kept going on and on about their big-time
baby receivers who are just adjusting to the college game...and then sure
enough, one of them breaks out in the second half leading to Boston
College's demise (not to mention the Eagles lost their QB)...anyway..back
to the Huskers. Do we have that type of WR in the works? I didn't see
anyone who could consistently create separation. Also the lack of a go to
tight end. It is hard to watch most of the time...anyone else cheer when
the defense gets on the field as the most likely means to score points?!?
The other interesting comment was about letting the young offensive talent
out on the field....even if they aren't as polished as the starters. How
long until we start hearing Beck chants if we don't officially redshirt
him?
Gonna be an interesting year.
