[Husker] West Coast Offense? (fwd)

I am sitting here watching a tape of the game today. I missed the first 3
quarters watching at the Chadron State Game. By the way - for all of you
folks in Lincoln, Omaha, etc - that is a college in Western Nebraska
somewhere out west of Grand Island) Sarcasm intended.

I will confess, on the way home to Douglas, Wyoming (on the West Coast of
Nebraska) listening to the 4th quarter I was pretty disgusted with the NU
offense. I thought the whole game must have been the most unimaginative game
ever called.

I can't believe what I am seeing. Callahan threw everything at them but the
kitchen sink. Great play calling with a few gadgets included. I see a young
team with a pretty good defense. They make alot of mistakes, have a lot of
penalties and sometimes aren't very good.

One thing I do see and did hear on the radio. These kids never quit. That is
what I thought we had been missing for the last 3 or 4 years. No laughing on
the sidelines when things go bad or folding when the momentum turns. That
may happen in the future when they lose badly.... and they will.... but for
now it is refreshing.

I have been a hard sell on this change at NU, but you can officially mark me
in the column as SOLD!

Enjoy this game. Each win will become tougher, and we may not see another
this year. We have a wealth of talent coming up, and as long as they keep
fighting like they are, I'll enjoy this year as well.

I don't care if we go 3-8 this year. The Nebraska I know is back.
