Steve I agree with your points except for one- did Ohio really "whip" Pitt? The game I saw could've gone either way. If Nebraska happens to beat Pitt with the help of 2 defensive touchdowns like Ohio did, folks will surely be ripping the lack of offense by the Huskers, yet no one seems to mention that the Ohio offense didn't generate many scoring drives of their own in the Pitt win, managing only a field goal at home. That being said, Pitt was an overwhelming favorite (and rightfully so) in the game, and really should have perfromed much better. Perhaps we should all breathe a sigh of relief that Wannstadt (sp?) was not hired in Lincoln!

I agree. I thought Solich was poorly treated and was glad to see Ohio
whip Pitt, but I can't imagine wanting the Huskers to lose this game or
do badly in the future. Likewise, I can't imagine why Pederson seemed
unhappy after Solich's last win (unless he was worried that it made
firing Solich more difficult).
> Things seem to be improving, and if it would turn south (souther?),
I agree that things seem to be improving. I'm sure Callahan is learning
about being the head football coach of college team with fans who have
very high expectations. I hope he is making the adjustments that will
lead to more success than he had last year.
> I don't think Callahan will go anywhere for at least 3-4 years.
I disagree. If Callahan doesn't improve on last year, he won't be here
3-4 more years. For example, if NU loses 2 of the next 3 or goes 6-5
or worse for the year, there will be high pressure for some changes.
If it continued next year, I think there would be a change, perhaps
at AD and head football coach. I think two more bad years (including
thie year) is all that would be tolerated, before there would be a
change.

I disagree here too. I think NU is a great opportunity and there are
many coaches who would love the challenge. For example, many would
consider Glenn (Wyoming) an attractive candidate with a good resume.
NU could attract even more prominent candidates.
