  It only speaks to people's perceptions and betting habits, not anything 
about the team itself. It's sometimes too tempting to get overconfident (or 
underconfident) when one sees Vegas lines. Lines are all about money ... 
nothing more.
 I myself think we beat WF by 21, but that's just me. :)

The 6.5 point spread is just begging for people to

  Actually, it indicates that a moderately even amount of money has already 
been bet on both sides. If a lot of people start laying money on WF, then 
the spread will shrink, or perhaps even switch to NU being the dog, to try 
to get more money bet on that side.

  You may (frightfully) be right, but if you are, it won't have anything to 
do with what happens in Vegas. :)
