I wouldn't get too worried just yet- look at some other teams' results
today...
OSU 15 Montana St. 10
Montana State? At least I've heard of Maine.
Tennessee 17 UAB 10 (at Tennessee)
Penn State 23 South Florida 13
And all the high hopes in Happy Valley this year.
Auburn, A&M and of course Oklahoma all losing- the Big 12 certainly looked
vulnerable today, that's for sure. Iowa State and Kansas didn't exactly wallop
their unheard-of opponents either. I chalk the Maine game up to opening game
jitters, although things certainly could have been much worse for Maine
without the turnovers. Of course, Maine was only a score and 2 pointer away from
the biggest embarrassment ever in Lincoln. Even though Wake Forest is not USC,
next week will tell us much more about this team, believe me. I believe OU's
season was crushed today more than people realize. They had some glaring
weaknesses exposed against a very beatable TCU squad. Colorado had to come back
and get a FG at the end to win their game, which does not surprise me as
lucky as they've been in the last 10-15 years. And Notre Dame is not 21 points
better than Pitt- I would be VERY worried about the Panthers if I were Bill
Callahan & co. Regardless, Nebraska is atop the Big 12 North.
