[Husker] Maine Tickets

Good Afternoon All:

I really don't think we need to worry about the sellout string going by the wayside this weekend. I believe these tickets are tickets that were returned from the visitor's allocation, which if not sold do not affect the sellout string.

The Big XII mandates that 4,000 tickets go to the visiting team (if they are conference opponents) and the amount is negotiable for non-conference games but in no case is it more than 4,000. Many visitors to Lincoln take 4,000 tickets but there are some who only take 2,500 or so. Whatever tickets they take, I believe, are taken on a guarantee basis, meaning they must sell them or pay NU for the seats. Since NU regularly sells out though teams have never had to worry about covering their shortfall as any tickets they returned to NU were sold anyway.

Now as for what happens next year I'm not sure because right now 6,000 more seats is looking like more than they need to satisfy demand, especially if tickets are still available at this late date for a game to be played in 48 hours.
