[Husker] Status of the Huskers (My Opinion)

I came into this season with "high" expectations considering the talent we
had coming in.  By "high" expectations, I mean to not get embarrassed and be
bowl-eligible.  After last year, I figured that they had to be better this
year.  And, in my opinion, they are.  The team is competing in every game,
the guys have the heart of champions, they may not be winning the games, but
they are keeping the games close and fighting to the end.  I know a lot of
you husker fans out there would like 10-2 every year with blow-outs every
game, but we need to be realists.  This is the second year of a completely
new system and I feel that there have been significant improvements in every
aspect of the game.  The offense may not have the numbers, and may be
struggling to put points on the board, but if you compare this offense to
last years' you have to be excited about the future.  The defense is by far
better than last year's.  I know the record might not be much better than
last years, but this team is much better.

 

I hope that this team wins one more game to become bowl-eligible, and I am
pretty confident they will.  Then, my "high" expectations for them this year
will be achieved.
