This is the part I don't understand, the strength of the Husker defense
this year is in the line. Why then does Cosgrove go the 3-man line in
many longer yardage passing situations? This is what happened today on
the Sooners final TD drive which a previous poster referred to. It was
also used extensively against Mizzou and TT. I think most of us know
there is a lack of talent in the secondary. The 3-man line just gives
the opposing QB more time to pick apart the 'mediocre/bad' secondary.

Well, at least one person is happy to see the last of the old
traditions/streaks end.

The expectations of being competitive in the north this year were based
on the fact that none of the other north teams are dominant and none of
them enjoy a talent advantage over NU. Brad Smith looked great against
NU but has been human against everyone else. The Huskers have been
competitive in every game played thus far and have beat themselves in
their three losses more so than being beaten by the opponent, they have
demonstrated the ability to stop the opponent and score on them but only
after spotting them 21 point leads. I have to wonder why anyone would
have thought the north division was out of reach this year.
