The NCAA post-season football guide still has the 1 in 4 year rule in it,
but I think you're right that they're changing it next year when the 12
game season becomes an every-year possibility (something I predicted
would happen when the 12 game rule was first introduced. I wonder if that
means the clock is now ticking towards the 13 game season?)
One thing that isn't clear to me: Are teams REQUIRED to schedule 12
games next year, or just PERMITTED to?
Pat correctly noted that the Huskers didn't use the 1-AA rule in 2002,
so 6 wins is what they need this year. I wonder what bowl game that'd
get them? ESPN had them pegged for the Holiday Bowl yesterday, I suspect
that's a lot less likely this evening.
