[Husker] Would a 6-5 Nebraska team be bowl-eligible?

That's not correct. Nebraska had 7 regular seasons wins in 2002.
Excluding the 1-AA win over McNeese State, they were 6-6. Since 2002
was a season where all teams could schedule 12 games, 6-6 was considered
"bowl eligible." Therefore, Nebraska did not "count" the McNeese State
victory toward bowl eligbility.
On a side note...Nebraska actually had 13 regular season games that year
because they played in an extra "preseason" game to open the season
against Arizona State.
