I understand the refs need to protect the QB's from late hits and 
intentional head to head contact, but I feel the late hit that was called on 
NU was a JOKE.  Everyone knows Smith was KO'd the week before.  The hit in 
my opinion, after watching it again and again is not late.  Taylor takes the 
exact same hit later in the game and NO call.  The fox announcers were 
talking about late hits to Smith that had not been called the entire season. 
  Pinkel(sp) was doing a lot of talking to the refs and I am sure he was 
complaining about his ONE MAN TEAM was getting tackled a little to rough.  
Well this is football.  HELLO, when your QB is a runner he is going to get 
nailed.  Gill, Turner, S. Taylor, Frazier, Frost, and any other option QB 
gets hit hard.  Dailey last year was blown up a few times and no flags 
thrown.  It makes me admire the toughness of our past QB's that ran the 
option and of our current QB.  At least NU can say we have never had a Chad 
May at QB.  (whiner because he was hit to hard)
