After 6 games NU is ranked #1 in rushing defense with a 65 yard ave.
Add to this the fact that they are also #1 in sacks with 34 and 262 yards lost, and #1 in tackles for loss 68 for 345 yards.
NU's 3rd down defense efficiency is at 25.6% (23 conversions on 90 attempts) - 3rd in the nation.

Despite Brad Smith's arm he is 7th in passing efficiency in the conference but actually leads the conference in rushing. Bomar is 11th in the conference in passing and Peterson is only averaging 66 yards per game. I don't think Kansas poses a threat and K-State is at home. That leaves @ CU and Joel Klatt. We could be unbelievably - can I dream - 9-1 or 8-2 going into that game with both teams having a 2 week prep time.

The Blackshirts have allowed the offense to warm up and gain momentum and moxy. If we can win against Brad Smith - who was not playing well last week before his concussion - 39 rushing 8-12-1 45 passing, the CU game could have a lot riding on it.
