Actually, this article was written by a writer for the
San Antonio Express-News FOR ESPN, not by an ESPN
staffer.
One could argue that 2 of the games that have been
"exciting" were actually the result of a very mediocre
offense that the media DIDN'T like, and that might
explain why they didn't get a mention here. However,
that doesn't explain why Kansas, A&M, and Iowa State
got mentions here either. They've had equally
mediocre or worse offensive performances.
If the offense continues to click like it did last
week, articles like this will become just a bad
memory. The Texas Tech game is really the only game
this season that one could argue that the Husker
offense had been impressive in. Scoring 13 points in
regulation against Iowa State was only an improvement
to mediocre from previous poor performances.
A good showing in Waco probably won't change many
minds either; they'll just say "Baylor is Baylor".
Mizzou's defense appears to be a sieve, so we might
not get much love until the Sooners come to town.
Steady improvement is what I'm looking for.
Eventually the national media will take notice once
the offense gets into a consistent groove.
