I have to disagree with the ESPN article, too. Kansas at 3-2 with games
against Oklahoma, Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas and Iowa State seems
less likely to go bowling than Nebraska at 4-1 with games against Baylor,
Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Kansas State and Colorado.

Assume for the sake of discussion that the Huskers go 6-5 and Baylor goes
7-4. Is there a possibility Nebraska could get shut out of a bowl because
the Big XII runs out of slots before it runs out of bowl-eligible teams?

And while I might agree that Baylor's coach is deserving of 'coach of the
year' honors if he takes Baylor to a bowl game, if Paterno wins 9 or more
games I suspect he'll get the national honors, and if Texas goes to
a BCS bowl in a year when they also defeat Oklahoma that'll wrap up the
conference honors.
