Isn't there a 'rule' that prevents the losing participant in the conference
championship game from falling too far in the bowl selection process?  If I
recall correctly, it was precipitated by Nebraska being selected ahead of
K-State for the Holiday Bowl after the Wildcats had beaten the Huskers, won
the North Division, then lost in the championship game.
