The entire state of Colorado should be embarassed by the behavior at these games, it just seems surreal that this crap is allowed to happen over and over. My only question is, what on earth did the refs keep going to Barnett for- what would he have been able to do?

Some years ago I taught in a very small high school in Colorado - maybe
D-1 size in Nebraska speak. Anyway there were places we played where
you were wise to park your car away from the game site because if they
didn't recognize your car or saw from your plates you were from a
different county (yes it is possible, or was then) you risked getting
your tires slashed or car keyed. They start them young and get the
predictable result. I would be interested if this general mind set has
changed over time, stayed the same, or gotten worse. All it takes is
the will to change and the cojones to punish people in a public way when
they don't behave - You won't have to do it very often before people get
it that you as an institution are serious.
It has always amazed me that a state like Colorado that is so tourist
driven tolerates the behavior towards the tourist meal tickets of so many.
A very fun game to watch from the safety of my living room!!
