Agree. I really miss "the ball is at the 20, 18 in from this, the west side of the field moving right to left, South to North.........Nebraska in the I-formation.........(insert quarterback name here) calls the starting count..........the give is to (insert I-back name here) who is knocked down after a gain of about 4....................

The wonderful radio broadcasts even made raking fall leaves an enjoyable
task. Dick or Lyle had a way of painting the action on the field that
made you feel like you were right there on the sidelines.

When I listen over the internet these days it is just not the same
thing. I am beginning to think it is a lost art because we have become
so dependant on the visuals of TV that broadcasters are not taught how
to create images with words.

Was there anything better than listening to Husker games on crisp fall
afternoons while playing football outside? Seems like the Huskers were
on TV only for the Oklahoma game and maybe a big non-conference game.
Were we really any worse off not having them on TV all of the time? I
never thought twice about the fact that you could tune into different
radio stations and get different broadcast teams. That's just they way
it was.  Ahh, the memories...

Greetings Again:

<snip>

 When I was 14 I listened to every game on the radio no matter what, or
we'd have a radio blasting outside while us kids in the neighborhood
were playing touch football.
