I believe the beginning of this basketball season will be similar to last
year's..... don't be surprised if Collier sacrfices some losses during the
pre-Big 12 season to get the younger kids ready for Big 12 play.

Matt Davison said on the broadcast today "this team is quicker, deeper and
longer". Those who were unhappy with last year's Slo-Mo offense should
find us running much more, much more up-tempo offensively.

Might as well make predictions now. I believe this team's success will
depend heavily on the play of McCray and Maric. If they're hitting their
shots, playing well, we can probably beat a lot of teams. If not, we'll
struggle mightily.

I listened to yesterday's and today's games on the radio only, haven't
seen them, but freshman Jamel (not Jammal) White sounds like he's much
more mature than you'd expect, although the games were against Yale
(#176), and La Tech (#199). We're at #108 (before the La Tech win). I'd be
interested to hear about anyone's assessment of the freshmen players we
have - anyone who's seen them play in person.

Thanks
