The word here in OK is that Brent Venables (OU Defensive Coordinator) is
the top candidate for the job. He's 34, a native of Salina, played at
KSU and worked for Snyder until Stoops brought him to OK in 1999 (maybe
'98). Everyone here assumes it's a "done deal" with Venables leaving OU
right after the bowl game.

Greetings All:
As far as the situation goes in Manhattan here are a couple of things I
don't believe will occur and one that I believe will happen:
1. Mark Mangino will not leave Kansas (at least not this year).
2. Gary Barnett will not leave Colorado (at least not this year). The
only place I can see Gary going in the Big XII other than Colorado, is
to Missouri.
3. KSU will likely go outside for it's next hire, and I would expect it
won't take long for Jon Wefald (KSU President) to find someone.
