[Husker] Snyder to Retire

Just heard someone in Fort Worth float Gary Patterson's name (tcu's
coach) for the job. He's an alumn of KSU. Might be a nice fit
(although I'd hate to see him go). And he gives his number 2 quarterback
several snaps throughout the season. (j/k)

The OWH had a story last week that said some or most of the assistants
were on the hot seat because of the last two seasons so dont know if
they are real canidates. Dont know which ones were supposed to be on
the hot seat as I just kind of scanned the article but if I remember
right there was a lot of talk about the defensive cordinator and other
d coaches and maybe the offensive cordinator. Or is that Snyder? Whats
the chance that maybe Mangino might leave KU for KSU? He is also an old
assistant of Snyders isn't he? KSU would get a good coach and stick a
thorn in their rivals side while doing it.

Snyder's assistants, but that might be the first place KSU looks. That's
what a lot of programs do when a long time successful coach retires.
That's what Nebraska did after Osborne. And Solich had a better first
six years than either Devaney or Osborne with two of his teams in
contention for a national title and about the same win-loss percentage.
Too bad he was the victim of a tragic accident. (Grin)
