I agree that is what happened --- Callahan was trying to
redshirt Beck until circumstances pursuaded him to pull
the redshirt.  I'm saying that there have been opportunities
opportunities this year to put in another QB --- against
Maine, Wake Forest, and Baylor when NU was ahead and against
Missouri and Kansas when NU wasn't moving the ball to name
five examples.

I didn't write that you said that --- but others have.  I
agree with your assessment of Callahan's mind set not those
others.  On the other hand, he should have gotten other QBs
some experience, preferably Beck if he is the QB of the future.

I've been clear in stating that I think it would have been
better to have given Beck playing time this year.

I hope so, but that doesn't preclude getting some playing
time for the second-stringers so they are more ready when
called on.  If this is such a difficult system and Beck is
the QB of the future, then I'd say getting him some experience
this year is important.
