Remember the Missouri game? UM brought the second
string QB in and it provided a spark for the Huskers.
UM had gone up and down the field up to that point.
NU came back to tie the game and the second string QB
never returned.
I agree with getting Beck some pt if he is not going
to red shirt. I also agree with BC doing everything
he can to use the red shirt this year and getting Beck
pt next year, when he has had more time to learn the
system, a year of lifting to get stronger, and is more
mature.
Obviously it would be nice to get the second QB in but
I do not know of a time this year when NU could afford
to have Taylor on the sidelines for a series or two.
BC took a gamble that Taylor would not get hurt. If
that happens, then everything works out better for the
year. It didn't and he had no choice but to put Beck
in to win the game.
There are plenty of other things BC has done that
deserve questioning, starting with hiring his college
roommate to be DC. I don't think this is one.
I feel as if BC tried to red shirt Beck, and would
have if not for the injury. He was forced to burn it
to save the season.

I always like to see a backup QB get brought in for
a
series in the second quarter. It makes me think the
coach isn't
putting
all of his eggs in one basket. Question from a less
than careful
observer is this the first time we've seen another QB
besides Taylor in
the game?
Misunderstoodedly,

Not the goal but the game.
In the deed the glory."
