[Husker] they burnt the redshirt

I simply think (and I think it's not a crazy thing to think) that it's
an interesting time of the year to decide to burn the red shirt. If it
was my team (and it is not), I probably would have held on for the rest
of the year. I know it's a tough call with a bowl game on the line --
but I think the decision could have been made earlier in the season
possibly which would have given Beck more snaps. Clearly Callahan
thought he could handle a situation where the game was on the line, and
he came through, for that I'm happy. I simply think it was 1. playing
with fire and 2. late in the season to make the decision.
Clearly we have other QB's on the depth chart (not the two deep though).
If it was clear that he was ready 2 weeks ago -- why not put him in when
the game is not on the line? Last week for instance. I suppose we
would moan about that too - so perhaps earlier yet.
Still seems like with a red shirt -- there is a point in the season
where it does reach a sacred point. Last two games -- pretty sacred
IMO.
