[Husker] recruits

No offense, if recruiting is the lifeblood of college football then ND
should have MNC in the upper teens or twenties. Same with Texas. In this
case, it's quite wrong. Hell, if this were correct, the Husker would
never have won a MNC with Osborne in the nineties. I'm sorry but
counting on retired lawyers, businessmen, general laborers and such to
tell us who is and isn't the best players in the country is hit and miss
at best. As a supporter of the Husker program, if I see something that
isn't right do I just sit around and do and say nothing about it. Those
who care about the program will not. Plus, I ask, where was all this
concern for halting the bitching and moaning when Solich was coach? In
fact, I felt the criticism of Solich was harsher than what we're hearing
now i.e. hatred for the man. If what recruits are hearing now is putting
them off what do you think happened to Solich when the recruits heard of
Husker fans hatred of the HC? There will always be fans bitching and
moaning about something with their team, I would hope that most recruits
would realize that this happens in the successful programs because the
fans want it to remain a successful program.

 All the bitching and moaning will due more damage than people in the
state and on this list even realize.
 
I can't tell people how to act/behave/or "be a fan".
 
But, I can look at myself in mirror and KNOW for a fact that I'm
supporting this program and it's student athletes.
There are several on the list and in the State of Nebraska that CANNOT
 
FANS bitching constantly, day after day, will only serve to hurt
recruiting.
Recruiting IS the life blood of college football.

Barry turner is going to be one of the great Blackshirts by the time
he's
done.

I read a piece in the LJS this week about how some of the verbal commits
have been hearing a lot of negative comments about the Husker program
and
people saying that the coach is on his way out.  There were comments
that
they were having to stay positive about sticking with UNL.  It would be
absolutely deplorable if the program lost recruits because of all of
this
fretting and complaining.

Oh, and Taylor just threw another TD pass to Swift to set the season TD
pass
record at NU, while looking into a KSU blitz (I'm quoting Fiala here).
He
put the ball in a perfect spot.  What was Callahan thinking?!!!  How
could
you possiibly throw in that situation <sarcasm>.
